Engineering Designer
Job Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to design, develop and deliver wire harness components/systems to production and to support Electrical Integration across the entire vehicle.
2. Create CAD models and detailed drawings, and work with large virtual assemblies for motorcycle components/systems while utilizing advanced modeling techniques within Creo.
3. Work with Design Engineers to import models from external software and ensure they conform to H-D CAD standards
4. Create and resolve engineering change notices utilizing Product Life Cycle Management (PLM).
5. Work closely with team to help optimize systems, components, and fixtures for cost, weight and quality improvements.
6. Demonstrate in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in delivering optimal designs while adhering to project targets, performance objectives, high quality, and cost minimization.
7. Work with other designers, design engineers, and suppliers assigned to department projects with CAD support.
Experience Requirements:
1. Experience and proficiency in Creo Parametric Harness, with focus using the Piping/Cabling Design module being strongly preferred
2. Experience making wire harness diagrams with Creo Schematics
3. Experience with hands on wire harness prototyping and physical mock-up support to confirm virtual 3D design
4. Experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system authorizing parts and end-to-end management of Engineering changes
5. History of delivering designs of high quality, minimal cost that meet timing objectives and consider manufacturing and assembly processes
6. Ability to apply sound design practices to engineering drawings utilizing GD&T, able to read and interpret GD&T on molded part drawings is a plus
