The Sr Principal Engineer – Electrification - NGDV High Voltage Battery will lead and manage the Production-ization and sustaining engineering efforts for the high voltage battery of the Next Generation Delivery Vehicle (NGDV). Provide technical leadership and make critical decisions that have a large impact on the product and its long-term sustainability. Performs complex engineering analysis, design or re-design, validation and troubleshooting of the high voltage battery systems on delivery vehicles. Provides integration and execution expertise for vehicle control and embedded systems development.

Roles and Responsibility:
•    Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the battery supplier.
•    Responsible for coordination of battery failures, repair, and tracking.
•    Responsible for ensuring battery failures are root caused, contained, prevented, and documented properly.
•    Ensures the supplied battery software functions and integrates with the vehicle properly.
•    Provide oversight for the battery system architecture, packaging, cell, module, and pack design and integration.
•    Provide oversight of the battery management system design and integration.
•    Approve battery system functional and performance requirement verification and compliance.
•    Has some level of product cost responsibility for the high voltage battery.
•    Collaborate and build relationships with internal and external customers, across segments and functions.
•    Ability to present and defend technical engineering decisions to Engineering leadership, Oshkosh leadership, and external customers.
•    Responsible for completion of a complex project on time.
•    Responsible for managing multiple priorities.
•    Collaborate as needed with other engineering business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
•    May have exposure to external customers and/or industry organizations.
•    Perform complex electrical engineering analysis of customer requirements, including design of new and modified systems, ensuring current products remain competitive as well as supporting new products.
•    Interface with customers/suppliers to resolve complex technical issues to provide the business with innovative, industry leading solutions.
•    Provide guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers working on a common project.
•    Perform and check complex engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
•    Responsible for the preparation and delivery of complex electrical plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.
•    Research, create, and update standard engineering methods and procedures, best practices, etc.
•    Other duties as assigned.
•    Regular attendance is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with eight (8) or more years of related experience (engineering lithium ion battery systems, high voltage systems, or an electrified mobility product).
