Packaging Engineer

The Packaging Engineer to support and lead packaging projects to ensure effective delivery of products to  customer while optimizing the supply chain

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
•Work with various suppliers to develop the optimal packaging solutions for their products while ensuring all safety, quality, ergonomic, cost and material flow requirements are met
•Analyze and implement alternative packaging methods and keep current on industry standards and best practices
•Use various tools, pull engineering drawings for raw materials and record part dimensional data needed to make a container selection
•Review and approve various material flow and packaging change requests submitted through the segment Material Flow Councils
•Manage various day to day tactical issues that arise with suppliers and their use of returnable packaging
•Work with the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) team to implement reusable containers internally and externally in support of the overall PFEP strategy
