Industrial Engineer - Industrial project leader

1.    Coordinate and lead the efforts of the Industrialization team to provide industrialization input as a partner to engineering and offer marketing to define product and process offer architecture that will maximize number of possible features while minimizing number of modules required for assembly (simplification and standardization) and minimizing the overall assembly time. 
2.    Assist with the LV electrical product and process architecture to standardize on electrical harnesses and increase reliability and reduce assembly and test labor
3.    Lead the industrial strategy efforts with industrial strategy team in Global Supply Chain conducting make vs buy strategy ; develop plan for line deployments.
4.    Lead and guide the product costing activity to maximize value vs product cost utilizing a champions product costing approach with benchmark of existing offers
1.    Work directly with Engineering, Offer Marketing and Industrialization team to optimize part design for design for assembly (DFA) / design for manufacturing (DFM). 
2.    Plan and execute the Industrialization activities utilizing agile methods:
a.    Work with x-functional team in regular planning events
b.    Develop detailed sprint plans working directly with Program Management, all other x-functions and Industrialization team members
c.    Act as “Product Owner” to approve INDUS deliverables and sprint objectives
d.    Ensure effective daily SIM (Scrum) meeting are conducted efficiently and effectively
e.    Execute regular demonstrations of progress
f.    Ensure there is regular feedback and improvement via “Retro” 
3.    Forecast and Track Industrialization labor, operating expense and capital throughout the project using standard SE tools
4.    Lead risk assessment for supply chain
a.    Conduct DFA risk study / Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) assessing critical characteristics, risks, and developing mitigation plans for the assembly line
b.    Prepare overall supply chain risk analysis using standard SE tools
5.    Assist and ultimately approve all Industrialization deliverables in assembly engineering; fabricated parts, product costing; supply chain planning; in-production product testing; industrial quality
a.    Assembly Engineering 
i.    Assist to develop and approve assembly engineering specialists to define assembly line architecture necessary to achieve the project objectives.
ii.    Assist to develop and approve the technical and generic specifications of the assembly process design including line layouts, station layouts, information management/traceability, capacity and workload balancing, material delivery. All following  Line Architecture Design Methodology and templates.
iii.    Estimating and managing Operating and Capital Expense requirements from project inception to final asset transfer
iv.    Assist to develop and approve factory foot-print necessary to assembly and maintain inventory
v.    Benchmark current assembly processes 
vi.    Assist to develop and approve assembly labor using  Electric methods with appropriate efficiency factors
vii.    Assist with assembly value add target cost estimate based on costing models and use this to optimize the total cost and Industrial strategy decisions
viii.    Determine and realize all actions necessary for prototype builds (collect parts, prepare areas, tools)
ix.    Participate in the supplier selection and contract review process with Purchasing for outsourced assemblies
x.    Develop assembly equipment specifications and qualification plans
xi.    Monitor assembly process equipment completion with suppliers and actively participate / lead the process qualification process while optimizing the performance
xii.    Assist to apply digital tools to assembly process, procedures, operator training
xiii.    Ensure compliance of all documentation in alignment with the global  Production System (SPS) processes
xiv.    Obtain plant acceptance and provide the final sign-off on tool and process for project deliverables
6.    Product Costing:
a.    Lead and guide the product costing activity to maximize value vs product cost utilizing a champions product costing approach with benchmark of existing offers
i.    Direct and guide the efforts of the product cost specialist to ensure accuracy of product costing, appropriate levels of contingency based on maturity of offer and process
ii.    Benchmark against existing offers 
iii.    Benchmark against competitive offers as necessary

7.    Supply Chain Planning
a.    Lead and guide the supply chain planning activity, working with offer marketing, product design, supply chain to optimize the offer in regard to the customer logistic offer considering customer lead-time expectations can be met considering supply chain options, logistics cost, transportation, inventory, etc.   
a.    Assist to develop extended value stream maps for both current offers and future.  
b.    Assist to develop supply chain matrices to compare inventory, logistics, transport costs
c.    Assist to develop upstream and downstream supply chain plan for every part and commercial reference
d.    Ensure efficient synchronization with all supply chain functions in procurement and global supply chain
8.    In-Production Product Testing 
a.    Assist to develop and approve test engineering specialists to define in-production testing architecture necessary to achieve the project objectives.
b.    Assist to develop and approve the technical and generic specifications of the test process design including line layouts, station layouts, information management/traceability, capacity and workload balancing, material delivery. All following  Line Architecture Design Methodology and templates.
c.    Estimating and managing Operating and Capital Expense requirements from project inception to final asset transfer
d.    Benchmark current test processes 
e.    Participate in the supplier selection and contract review process with Purchasing for outsourced assemblies
f.    Develop test equipment specifications and qualification plans
g.    Assist to monitor test process equipment completion with suppliers and actively participate / lead the process qualification process while optimizing the performance
h.    Assist to apply digital tools to test process, procedures, operator training

9.    Fabricated Parts  
a.    Lead and guide the fabricated parts engineers, working with Offer Marketing and Product Design to influence the design to maximize functionality, manufacturability and product cost.  
i.    Assist to evaluate component designs for metal and plastic parts, early in the project
ii.    Assist to conduct should costs for new parts
iii.    Assist to develop component specification and control plans
iv.    Assist to estimate tooling capital
v.    Assist to develop and approve the tooling specifications and qualification plans
vi.    Benchmark current fabrication processes
vii.    Participate in the supplier selection and contract review process with Procurement
