Qualification

Proven work experience as an Energy Engineer, Energy Auditor or similar role.

Knowledge of renewable energy technologies.

Ability to analyze complex data and produce clear, actionable reports.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field.

Certification as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Energy Auditor (CEA) is a plus.

Job Description: Sustainability Engineer - Water Reduction (Onsite)

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Sustainability Engineer to join our team at our Greensboro, North Carolina manufacturing plant. This role will focus on driving water reduction initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and managing the execution of solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of water management principles, technical problem-solving skills, and experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Water Reduction Strategy Development & Implementation:
    • Conduct thorough assessments of water usage across the plant, identifying areas for optimization and reduction.
    • Develop and implement innovative solutions to minimize water consumption, including process improvements, technological upgrades, and water reuse/recycling programs.
    • Lead the development and execution of water reduction roadmaps, setting clear goals and targets.
  • Compliance and Standards:
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable water-related regulations, standards, and permits.
    • Stay informed about evolving industry best practices and regulatory changes related to water management.
    • Proactively identify potential compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with P&G Engineering, Operations, Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) teams to integrate water reduction initiatives into existing processes and systems.
    • Establish clear communication channels and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Identify and evaluate potential vendors specializing in water management solutions.
    • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with selected vendors to ensure the successful implementation of projects.
    • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and ongoing operation of water reduction technologies.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Track and analyze water usage data, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
    • Develop and present regular reports on water reduction progress and performance.
    • Use data insights to inform decision-making and optimize water reduction initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Continuously evaluate existing programs and processes, seeking opportunities for enhancement and innovation.
    • Stay abreast of advancements in water management technologies and best practices.
    • Promote a culture of water conservation and sustainability within the plant.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or related field).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in water management, sustainability, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful water reduction programs.
  • Strong understanding of water treatment technologies and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to sustainability and a passion for environmental stewardship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in the consumer goods industry.
  • Certified Sustainability Professional (CSP) or related certification.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 or other relevant environmental management standards.
