Design Engineer

Design Engineer (full-time, multiple openings)

L&T Technology Services Ltd. is in need of Design Engineer(s) in Edison, NJ and various unanticipated locations throughout the US to design and develop new concepts for various automotive subsystems, including windshields, roofs, doors, seat ergonomics and comfort, dash and interior body, and cargo boxes. Coordinate with team and other groups (industrial design, system architect, FEA, manufacturing) to understand scope and design requirements of new product development. Perform Tolerance Stack-Up and manage large assemblies. Part breakup and develop part interference. Assign datum strategy and develop key assembly features. Develop B-side features of plastic parts (injection molding, low-pressure molding, vacuum-form, overmold components, and new tech). Create casting, sheet metal and weldment parts. Develop sealed joints to improve NVH of cab and meet IP standards. Develop seat components to meet comfort and cost requirements. Assign GD&T and create detailed drawings following company standards. Manage design change requests and open design tasks on Windchill and SharePoint. Handle VAVE, design improvement and cost reduction projects. Participate in root cause analysis, problems and issue resolution. Coordinate with analysis team to check the feasibility of newly designed components and sub systems, as well as provide support during prototypes, pre-builds, and final release of master models in the system. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering (any) or related field, plus two years of engineering experience. The two years of engineering experience must include one year of experience using Creo, PTC Windchill, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office. In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent), we will accept a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) earned through any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience, as determined by a professional evaluation service. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Travel and relocation required. International travel is not required. Any travel that is required will be domestic in nature to visit various LTTS and client facilities based on project needs.
