Design Engineer

Design Engineer (full-time, one opening)

L&T Technology Services Ltd. is in need of a Design Engineer in Edison, NJ and various unanticipated locations throughout the US to design and develop new concepts for various automotive sub systems, including transmissions, wire harness designs of 48V & 12V cables, and engine coolant hoses. Design products from concept to prototype phase and production. Develop framework to communize (carryover) parts across platforms and ensure proper quality and lower assembly and production costs. Work with finite element analysis groups for issue resolution involving parts forming, vehicle crash worthiness, durability & NVH performance. Perform design using CATIA V5, conduct layout review, QC, drawing creation and negotiation with surrounding component business unities. Coordinate release of engineering changes and appropriate documentation. Document and execute engineering changes coordinating with suppliers, manufacturing and plants. Participate in root cause analysis, problems and issue resolution. Coordinate with analysis team to check the feasibility of newly designed components and sub systems, as well as provide support during prototypes, pre-builds, and final release of master models in the system. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering (any) or related field, plus two years of engineering experience. The two years of engineering experience must include one year of experience using Ansys software, CATIA, ABAQUS, HyperMesh, and Unigraphics NX design. In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent), we will accept a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) earned through any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience, as determined by a professional evaluation service. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Travel and relocation required. International travel is not required. Any travel that is required will be domestic in nature to visit various LTTS and client facilities based on project needs.
