Define, document, and control calibration equipment to ensure carbon monoxide, smoke, indoor air quality, and other sensing technologies are consistently and reliably produced within the statistical product requirements maintaining 100% quality and certification adherence

  • Participate with the team in system design and innovation, prototyping, and transitioning to production taking ownership of major portions of the project or the entire project
  • Serve as a technical lead member of a team tasked with developing smoke, gas, and heat alarms that communicate wirelessly with other alarms, the cloud, and BLE notification devices
  • Design electronics to meet the functional specifications within cost targets, oversee prototyping and testing for compliance and robustness, and take the product through certification including FCC and EMC performance
  • Perform analysis and simulation on circuit designs prior to assembly to ensure design goals will be met i.e. meet or exceed all design requirements
  • Provide experienced insights into possible design opportunities and limitations
  • Develop diagnostic techniques and provide support to production engineers tasked with transitioning products to very high-volume manufacturing
  • Works autonomously with limited oversight while managing large and complex projects and process improvements
  • Professionally communicate with parties within and outside of the NPD EE department serving as a strong representative for our team and company

•    Critical thinkers and successful problem solvers; highly adept at using sound technical logic and detailed statistical data analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of primary and alternative solutions
•    Possess very strong analog, AC and DC power supply, and RF (subG, 2.4G, and 5G) design skills
•    Very strong design and development skills in mixed-signal digital and analog circuits with a proven track record of successfully launching products
•    Experience designing and analyzing sensing systems comprised of optical components (LEDs, Photodiodes) and/or light scattering inference methods
•    Very strong ability to design low-power products capable of achieving very long life with non-replaceable batteries
•    Advanced Minitab (or other statistical analysis tools) skills; skilled in Matlab scriptwriting is a strong plus
•    Define and control new calibration fixtures that simulate smoke levels and particulates and develop test plans for sensor systems in partnership with stakeholders
